Fenugreek Seed

Fenugreek plants are erect, loosely branched, and less than 1 metre (3 feet) tall with trifoliate light green leaves and small white flower. The slender pods are up to 15 cm (6 inches) long, curved and beaked, and contain yellow-brown seeds—flat rhomboids characterized by a deep furrow, less than 0.5 cm (0.2 inch) long. They contain the alkaloid trigonelline and cholrine.
